An absolutely amazing experience. After arriving in Zermatt by train, we took a short walk to a funicular that runs entirely inside the mountain. Once we got to the top, we stopped at the charming terrace for a beer and to take in the scenery. Then a leisurely 30 minute walk down to Chez Vrony. The walk is great, but the arrival is spectacular. There are a lot of beautiful pictures online (not my photos below), but none do it justice. You're greeted by wonderful staff, then seated at beautiful rustic tables, hopefully on the terrace. Despite having a tough act to follow in the setting and the staff, the food is amazing. After dining, you have a chance to walk most of it off by walking the rest of the way down to Zermatt. Roughly 4 miles, and at times challenging because it's all downhill, it all combines to form a truly magical and authentic Swiss experience. We live in Switzerland now and have visitors all the time. This may have been the most magical day we've had yet. Thanks Chez Vrony.
