The Metropolitan Museum of Art asks for a suggested donation of 25.00 per adult to visit. The High Museum of Art is 19.50. The Atlanta History Center plus 3 other properties is 21.50. The prices for children are all less.

The Center for Puppetry Arts is 25.00 regardless of age. This means that a family of 4 will have to pay 100.00 for an hour long puppet show--and let's face it, it's only for the kids anyway. This seems ridiculous, especially since it receives millions in donations and funding each year, some of it from the government.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great and worthy project, but if it becomes financially burdensome for families to attend then how good is it? Not to mention they spend 750,000 a year for administrative expenses at a place that uses volunteers for many of the services. If you can't run a puppet show and a four room museum of donated items for 4 million a year, then maybe there is a problem.

Update: The price has raised to 29.00. I guess they weren't quite cutting it at 25.00.
