Bought a transmission from them a few years back and a guy, who knew NOTHING about transmissions and I think he was just trying to help make a sale, said if the transmission fluid "tasted" like toast, it was fine. WHO DOES THAT?! In my experience, if the fluid smells burnt or is dark in color, it's bad. I also check the pan when I pull one because it tells a story about its life. I brought it home and pulled the side cover off and noticed it was the WRONG ONE! Took it back and they asked how do I know it's the wrong one. I told them I took the side cover off and they almost didn't take it because they said I had "modified" it. Took them three tries before they got it right and when I installed it, the transmission didn't shift well. Took it back and argued for a while about getting my money back, but instead got a $606 (outrageous for a trans that didn't work well) store credit.

They sometimes pull through with good parts, but the wait times can be aggravating. I'd rather pull the part myself and not get duped by some one who has no experience with vehicles.
