This is a "MUST-SEE" attraction while visiting Vermont. The tour is really interesting and teaches you the history and future of one of the most Iconic ice cream brands in America.
The guided tour starts with a short video explaining the past, present and future of the company, then moves on to their original production kitchen. The amount of ice-cream that is made every minute will seriously blow your mind. You learn about every stage of the process from start to finish, and you get it from a birds-eye view above the production floor. You are not allowed to take pictures of the production area for confidentiality reasons, but truthfully, this helps you take in and appreciate the work that goes into making ice-cream.
Once you are done in the production area, you move into the original flavour lab/kitchen where Ben and Jerry used to create and sample new flavours. While no longer used, the tour guide explains what the room used to be. As an added treat, you are given a relatively good size portion of fresh ice-cream. It was heavenly.
Outside of the tour itself, there is a gift shop, an ice-cream store, the original Ben and Jerry's tour bus, and even a flavour grave-yard (complete with real marble tombstones) to honour those flavours that are no more.
Fun, entertaining, informative and yummy. Totally worth the trip.
