Had the misfortune to be referred here for a CT scan.
A wholly incompetent computerised check in system sent me to the wrong place to wait.
When I eventually arrived in the department I witnessed a middle aged grey haired technician disrespecting a lady in a wheelchair. I am ambulant severely disabled and when I eventually got called into the scanning room the same man showed no disability awareness whatsoever, requesting that I perform actions physically impossible to my condition. He then proceeded to inform me in front of other staff members that I was rude; that my attitude was rude, as I had said very little other than I can t in response to his imprecations.
All in all a highly unpleasant experience. Such people have no business being employed in a healthcare setting. Other clinic staff were also manifesting clear signs of disinterest in the needs of the severely disabled. A thoroughly disgraceful state of affairs, combining incompetence with complete lack of empathy and a sense of misplaced (semi) professional entitlement.
The department is in dire need of disability awareness training.
