I was craving some New England clam chowder and this spot was along the way of our travel. For what it is, the place is fair. The space is shared with the neighboring Rotisserie Chicken shop, thus the dining area became quickly packed when we arrived Saturday noontime. Despite their name, they serve up more than just soups-- sandwiches, salads, snacks, you name it.
We ordered the Beef Stew, Lobster Newbury, and New England Clam and Corn Chowder soups. Each bowl of soup came with either a multigrain or french roll. Expectations of the soups were high seeing how busy it was and the fact that we were in the state of great seafood! Unfortunately, neither the lobster nor clam chowder blew me away. The lobster one tasted like a mellow tomato soup and the clam chowder, though much better than the former, was average. On the other hand, my partner really enjoyed his Beef Stew which looked super hearty, lots of beef chunks, carrots, and mushrooms. For the portions they served, it was reasonably priced.
