Got hacked in December 2014. Took my DLT to Geek Squad, who cleaned it out and reset it to factory default. Bought a MacBook Pro. Device generated 37K files in wastebasket. Took it back and Geek Squad replaced it, no questions asked. Bought WebRoot protection and three year/three device Geek Squad warranty for reasonable price. Smooth processing ever since.
