We had not been to Applebee's during the COVID-19 ...
We had not been to Applebee's during the COVID-19 shutdown, until just recently. Tried to call in an order, but the lady who answered did not understand what we wanted; I decided to just drive to the location to verify the order from the menu. Well, the menu is entirely different, but there's no (evident) way to know what is on the menu without looking at it. But, how is that to be done in a phone call?
What we picked up was well-prepared and sufficient; by the time we traveled 3 miles home, it was only lukewarm. That's not Applebee's fault, but it is frustrating we had to "cook it again," before it was palatable. Honestly, we thought the order was too expensive, given we had prepare it ourselves, but Applebee's has to survivr doesn't it. We double-tipped the servers, because they are underpaid, anyway, especially with the shutdown.
We'll probably return after the shutdown, but in the meantime, fast food can't compete with home-cooked and Applebee's is marginal.
