This is the single ugliest public building I have ever been in. It's nothing more than a big gray box inside. Absolutely no thought to detail, design, proportion and scale. It is an absolute embarrassment to anyone who cares about decent, compelling, inspiring design in Los Angeles. Where were Frank Geary or Zara Hadid when we needed them?
Sure you have a good view of the performance because you're always blasted by giant video monitors that distract you from the actual performance taking place on stage, but don't people care about the venue their seeing it in?
If you care at all about the quality of the venue you are seeing your show in, please boycott this depressing, creativity-sapping monstrosity so that something decent can be built there after it's inevitably torn down.
Did I mention that it is by far the most aggressively ugly public venue I've ever had the misfortune to be in?
