One of our favorite National Parks, and we've visited a lot of them! (Including all NPS sites, here - w/ 400+ of them)
Great Sand Dunes is unique and has a lot to offer visitors: high-altitude "beach days" when the creek is full, sledding/hiking the enormous dunes, admiring unique flora/fauna, and miles of backcountry (for the AWD/4x4 adventure-seeker). After several visits to the park, we continue to return & find more to explore!
