Gateway Chevrolet seems to think they are a monopoly and have no competition. In my opinion, GATEWAY CHEVROLET = BAD EXPERIENCE. The only reason they earned two stars instead of one is because the salesman was very nice. Other than that, not a good experience. When I first came to the dealership, I informed the salesman that I was going to find out how much a car was here and then I was going to other dealerships to compare, so I was shopping for a car, and I was going to buy a car that day. I was talking with the salesman for awhile, and we were looking at various cars. I saw one I liked, and I asked if I could test drive it without anyone going with me due to the COVID-19 issue. He told me he would need my drivers license, and I gave it to him, no problem. He came back out and told me his manager would not let me test drive it alone. This gave me the impression that this dealership does not understand what customer service is. Then, the salesman told me about a charge this particular dealership has for some added items onto the car. I told him I would not be interested in those items and wanted to know if they could take them off and not charge me. He went and asked his manager, and he said his manager said that would be something we could talk about if I came back after visiting another dealership. This gave me the impression that this dealership was into playing games. I left and went to another Chevrolet dealership in Phoenix that offers free window tinting to all customers. They let me test drive the car by myself, no problem, and they did not attempt to add other item costs onto the car. Furthermore, they were transparent about the cost of the car, and I bought the car that day. That deal could have been Gateway's had they not played games. There is no way I would recommend Gateway Chevrolet to anyone when their competition is so much better at customer service...
