Ok, so I see a lot of people have positive reviews about how clean the rooms are and how friendly the staff is, I would happen to agree with them. My issue, and reason I will never stay here again, is the hotel property layout, the building layout, and the fact that they gave me a key and I ended up walking into a room that already belonged to someone else. The best part is when we called the front desk they told us that room was not taken and then wouldn't listen to us when we said it was. I felt bad getting stern and annoyed with the front desk but it was obviously occupied since someone else's stuff was in there. This is where the building layout became an issue. We were already a little late to a function so when he gave us our room it was a big surprise how far of a walk it was through all these hallways and then through an ice vending room to get to metal stairs to go down a level because besides the main lobby elevator we didn't come across any others. I think they wanted to surround this lake with the building but if you're one of the last rooms like we were then it is a stupid long walk for a resort room. Look at a satellite view of this place and you'll see what I mean. They put us all the way on the far end of the north side in a wrong room when we were already running late just to have us hike back with all our bags before we got to walk some more to another room. Try making that walk twice when your lady is in heels. I didn't know she needed sneakers to get around this place. My last issue is the property layout. Another reason we were late is this hotel does not have a straight forward road to it. All the roads here are winding and loopy instead of going right up to the building. My advice is study a map before coming here. Even the main lobby is way up a hill away from the self parking area on a secluded one lane, one way road. The valet was polite and cheerful when he told me I could park down the hill and walk up the lighted path to get back up there. I should have known carrying our bags up this extended hill was just the start of our long walking for the evening. Also, when I was headed to the main building, which I didn't know where it was, a man with a vest and a lit boton pushed all traffic into this side parking lot, including me. I had to just stop all the cars behind me to ask another of them where to check in and he looked at me like I was stupid for going in there since it was obviously not where I needed to be. He had to pull these cone thingys out of the ground to let me loop through an empty section of parking lot so I could get back out and go past the first boton guy that pushed me in there to begin with. Since I had never been here before navigating all these winding roads, having parking lot issues, getting lost in hallways, going in someone else's room and just the immense amount of walking for a resort function just soured me on the whole place. With all that being said, anyone coming here can have a much better experience than I did by coming as early as possible, studying maps of the property and knowing the building layout before hand. Oh, and where sneakers. There's not much that can be done about walking into someone else's room if they do that to you but just knock first and open the door slowly with your hand over your eyes. You know, for courtesy and all that.
