I was so sick of new car shopping (before I spoke ...

I was so sick of new car shopping (before I spoke with Robbie at Bay Ridge Hyundai) that I was LITERALLY going to buy a used car privately, just so I didn't have to deal with ONE MORE DAMN CAR DEALER. I had been on the phone with 6 of them and visited 3 (all in NJ), knowing that it takes some effort to get the car you want at a good price. I spent over 10 hours on this, between calls and visits. I was lied to, mislead, got the runaround...you know the deal.

So then Robbie Salameh from Bay Ridge Hyundai called me (we had traded calls the day before). He had a good story: new dealership, trying to do things the right way, let me sell you a car, blah blah. Problem is, they all have a good story. I told Robbie that I was done new car shopping, and he said "why don't you give me a chance?" To which I said, "okay, but here's the deal: you need to confirm you have the car I want in stock, in the color I want, we need to agree on a price including everything (fees, taxes, everything) on the phone, and I need to be able to walk into the dealership, sign a few papers and get out quickly. And if I smell one piece of BS along the way, we're done." Robbie said "Perfect. And if you want, I'll deliver the car to your home." I live in NJ, an hour from the dealership. Seemed too good to be true, but I had nothing to lose at this point.

I told him the car and color I wanted; he confirmed that he had it. I told him the "out the door" price I wanted (I had done enough homework to know what a good price was). He paused for about 5 seconds, then said "okay." Still couldn't believe this was happening, there had to be a catch. He had just agreed in 5 seconds to give me a price that was hundreds lower than I'd been able to find at the dealerships I checked in NJ.

Let me cut to the end of the story: we got the paperwork done via email, his people delivered the car today, they were great, the car is great, and I got an unbelievable deal without setting foot in the showroom and without any BS. Robbie asked if I would post a review, and I was THRILLED to say yes. Because my experience with Bay Ridge Hyundai was the exact opposite of all the crap that I experienced when trying to buy a car elsewhere. I hope that Robbie and team provide all their customers with the same level of professionalism that they gave me. It really was an unexpectedly amazing experience.
