I just stayed at the Pillar and Post this past weekend, the staff were pleasant and very friendly. The room was decently clean and the tidy up the second day was lovely. The reason for the 3 stars is the cost (over 400 per night) in relation to the beds. We stayed in a double queen room, Suite 356 and the mattresses were sub par to say the least. We first chose the bed closest to the bathroom and after waking up multiple times because of how lumpy and uncomfortable the mattress was I got out of bed at 4:30 in the morning, moved my belongings off of the other bed and slept there instead. The second bed was only marginally better and had a concave centre which was much more apparent once my husband moved into that bed with me on the second night. Also the pillows appeared soft but once you laid down on them they felt hard to your head. The morning we checked out my husband had misplaced his sunglasses and I happened to look under both beds, I discovered under the first lumpy bed two makeshift wooden supports holding the bed up in the middle (along with a disturbing amount of dust and dirt). Honestly if the bed needs those supports maybe it's due time to REPLACE the frame, box-spring and mattress. Also, I've spoken to multiple family members about staying at the Pillar and Post and ALL of them commented that it's old and dated. Which I discovered it is.
