We were "winging" it, heading south on highway 1 towards Santa Cruz where we were going to see if there was a cute place to stay overnight. We never made it that far and instead discovered the Davenport Roadhouse. They had 1 room left and we snagged it. Best thing we could have done! Lots of incredible hikes right across the street, and a couple nice places to eat and drink. Super friendly staff. The view from the room of course is from across the highway, but it was nice enough, and privided a fresh ocean breeze to fall asleep by. If you are cruising through the area, don't just drive by Davenport. Make it your destination!
