Review of The Phoenix Zoo

Been planning and saving for this trip to the zoo ...

Been planning and saving for this trip to the zoo for awhile. Knew you were going to have to pay for the extra things to do like string ray, camel rides etc. brought our own drinks and snacks. Honestly I was pretty upset at the fact that almost everything we wanted to see or do was closed down like; snake viewing, feeding the giraffes, seeing the polar beers, ALL of the vendors except the margarita stand and the farm vendor were closed. I was so upset at the fact I told my 4 year old we were going to feed giraffes only to have to let her down once we seen it wasn t an option today. My husband convinced her to do a camel back ride instead and got even more frustrated at the fact he paid $12 for a one lap ride. I thought at that price they were going to do more then one small lap. Then at the end they offered a picture packet with a photo already printed out for $30. I just don t get it I paid $12 so you could waste that money printing out a picture your not even going to give me? The only animals that were out to see were the small animals and they were nothing special; flamingo, emu, spider and a snake, fish, turtles, monkey, birds. The biggest animals I only seen where a giraffe (in the telescope), leopard, and rhino. If your not going to have everything open it NEEDS to be posted or at least offer half off of ticket prices because this was not a cheap experience. Our family zoo experience was extremely disappointing.
There also needs to be way more mist stations other then the fans at the very end and the misters that don t reach the ground for the kids.

I gave 2 stars rather then 1 because staff was excellent and facility was very clean. Animals had clean water and fresh food! At least my money is going towards that. However I will be calling the zoo to express my disappointment.
