I was interested in employment with Harris County Toll Road Authority. According to HCTRA's website, I needed to register with ONLY ONE out of four available personnel agencies. This was the first time I had ever had to go through an agency for a job opening. A-1 Personnel was the closest to my residence, which is why I chose them.

I completed the registration form and faxed it to A-1 Personnel and drove to the office on Westpark a few days later to follow up on the fax to see if it had been received and processed. Unfortunately, I had arrived at lunch, but Ms. Veronica Garcia did assist me and that was the beginning of our communication, mostly via email. After some concern on my part that the registration may not have gone to the correct fax with particularly sensitive information on it, Ms. Garcia found the registration and my process began.

During this period, I was looking for other employment and I did receive a fair amount of invitations for sales and marketing positions and some rejections from other retail establishments, but I was hoping for a little luck with HCTRA. The registration was faxed in Early January 2019 and Ms. Garcia notified me January 30th that I had been selected by HCTRA as a Customer Service Representative candidate following the interview with HCTRA the previous day. I was very pleased.

One important thing I did after getting directed to A-1 Personnel's website was to read their posted information and learn their process to make their job easier to get this applicant to employment. I could not get employed by HCTRA without their help.

I do appreciate the assistance Ms. Garcia and her associates at A-1 Personnel was able to give me and I thank HCTRA for giving me this opportunity.
