OK, I promised this review a year ago and I'm finally writing it. But that does not diminish my enthusiasm for a job well done.

I wrecked my Trek Madone 5.9 about four weeks before a century that I had been preparing for. I broke my wrist and cracked one of my seat stays on the bike. Got a second opinion -- yep, it was cracked.

Could I recover and could I get the bike fixed in time? I started investigating carbon fiber frame repair, and at first it appeared that Calfee was the only game in town. That would mean sending my frame to California...no way would I get it back in time.

Then I found Jack Kane and the kind folks there agreed to do the repairs. By the time I got the bike to them, we were less than three weeks out. They promised to try to get it done, despite the problems of having enough time for the paint job to cure properly.

In the end, they did a super job, fixed both seat stays to keep the bike balanced, did a great paint job and even fixed another spot where the bike assemblers had overtightened my brake attachment and cracked the paint.

I rode the race on a four-week-healed broken wrist and a shiny new Madone. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
