Let's start with the good: it is a beautiful location - a varied and sprawling resort overlooking a lovely cove with myriad bars and activities. Some of the rooms are lovely, the drinks are stiff, and the pools cool and refreshing.

Now for the downsides: for over $1000/night for a family you expect a certain level of quality in the facility and services that just isn't here. The buildings were probably glamorous in the 80's but don't seem to have received much love since then. Outdoor showers were broken, metal bits were rusting, doors that don't close and knobs that come off in your hand. Beds were really *very* hard but blackout curtains were well-placed and kept the rooms dark. AC was delightfully frigid.

Food was acceptable but only passable (6/10) at even the "fancy" restaurants here. And the wait time at the casual grill was astonishing - 32 minutes of sitting and waiting to get a grilled cheese sandwich for my kid.

Service was variable but majority of staff were very kind and personable - remembering your name and checking in on you. Kids club was good. I could have done without the people wandering around trying to upsell you on fancier wines for dinner all day but they weren't pushy. The fact that scuba was included was impressive.

Overall, okay but not great. We won't be coming back since the price wasn't a good match for the value received but the time was neither a catastrophe.
