Admittedly we went on a very busy Sunday lunchtime, but to have run out of potatoes and vegetables seems incredibly incompetent and not the laughing matter the serving staff seemed to think it was.
Lacking the energy to join yet another long queue for something else (whatever there was, it was impossible to see given the mass of hungry bodies waiting an interminable length of time to be served) I settled for a mountain of red cabbage, two Yorkshire puddings and some beef. They claimed to have given me extra meat to justify still charging me full price for half a meal, which was almost cold by the time I had paid for it and started my search for a fork (another thing a staff member seemed to think was quite amusing).
It's beyond me how they cannot get the meat:veg ratio correct when they order supplies, or how the knives tray can be overflowing when there are no forks.
Alas, I could see no-one on duty with any seniority or gravitas to make my dissatisfaction known.
We won't be rushing back.
