I was extremely disappointed in the conversation and response I received from a member of the service department. I called because my car would smell of propane on the inside each time I turned the AC on when driving on the highway (60 MPH or faster). I pulled over. Waited approximately 15 minutes, attempted the AC again, but had the same result. I called the service department hoping to get an appointment as soon as possible and described to them what was going on. The response was, "I've never heard of a propane smell from the AC before". I said, well the internet is describing it as a possible problem with the engine or AC itself. The next response, "that doesn't happen to our cars". I just said ok I'll get it taken care of elsewhere. I then called another mechanic who, not only got me in the next morning at 0815, but was also said he was familiar with that type of issue and was able to diagnose the car within 45 minutes of looking at it and also changed the air filter. I was charged less than $40 (only for the filter) not for anything else. He said if the problem occurs again there is a part that may need replaced, but to bring it in right away so he can take a look as the problem is occurring. Very nice. Very respectful. Very professional. I will NEVER purchase a vehicle from Toyota or use their service department again.
