I'm currently in my second year at the college studying forestry and arboriculture and I can honestly say this college is so amazing!

The staff are all helpful and enthusiastic about teaching and the industry, and they have a lot of wisdom to share. The practical and theory lessons are all so much fun and engaging. Staff are quick to help you if you do not understand and they definitely go out of their way for their pupils.

During my first year I fell pregnant which was a shock to me after being told there was a high chance I couldn't concieve. I was worried about college due to the fact that my course is mainly an all male course but I told my course manager, Alan, before even telling my own family and he was amazing with the amount of advice and help I was given, I was even referred to a councillor!

I cannot fault my councillor her name was Natalie and she was amazing helping me and telling me about her time as a young mum too! She helped me make a plan of how I can carry on college and even how I could financially too!

The college was very understanding if I needed time off for doctors appointments or anything else and they fought for me when city and guilds told me to climb and fell trees at 5 months pregnant.

Now in my second year I am receiving so much help! My head of department Jamie gives up his office every 2/3 hours to give me a private place to pump my milk so I can continue breast feeding... I am also given a fridge to store it and a microwave to sterilize the parts! I am given a lot of help with catching up on my work and assignments. I have even got one of the Countryside staff offering me to borrow her electric breast pump from when she had her children! After having my baby I now struggle, strength wise, to climb trees as I used to and they are very understanding and help me a lot with that too! Ican honestly say the staff go above and beyond caring for not just me but every one of their pupils. I am so thankful for my whole department who are just some of the most caring people I will ever meet.
