After a few nights searching for someone that does custom paint work for bikes I stumbled on the Jack Kane website. After a few hours of browsing through their gallery I decided to reach out and contact them. I just finished my second season of triathlon racing and completed my first full Ironman this past August. With that I decided it was time to refresh my Specialized Shiv. I sent out an email and received a response the same day. After a few days of back and forth with Zane in regards to what colors and design patterns I was looking for they created 3 different prototypes and emailed them to me. I was able to narrow it down to one and the rest was history. I live up in Boston thus I had my local bike shop box my bike up and send it out. Jacks bike shop did a very comprehensive evaluation of my bike and found a few issues that needed to be fixed. I was due for a service anyway thus I had them complete any and all needed work.
Social media obviously seems to play a critical role in peoples lives and Jack Kane seems to be connected in all the correct ways. They uploaded pics along the way to Instagram which I was able to see which made me feel more connected to the process. Zane was very prompt in letting me know when things were complete and shipped the bike back in a very timely fashion. Honestly the bike is AWESOME. The paint work is BEAUTIFUL. Couldn't get any better in my opinion. The paint job adds a whole different level to the bike. For anyone that puts in countless hours on their bike training and wants to reward themselves this is a must do. On a side note-my father sent in his old Klein mountain bike that has got to be every bit of 15 years old and they did a fantastic job of giving that bike a new life as well. For anyone wanting to see my bike check out the gallery of non jack kane bikes and its the blue/green/white and black specialized shiv. The klein that my dad sent in can also be seen and is red/white/black. Thanks again Zane and Jack!!
