We just got back from a weeks stay at Beaches in O...

We just got back from a weeks stay at Beaches in Ocho Rios. What a great time. This was our second stay at a Sandals resort. We stayed at Sandals in Ocho Rios in 2017. So here is the review.
This place is family oriented from the get go. It is set up to cater to all your needs.

The Room: The room was a King room. It had a King bed, a twin sized couch that had a trundle under it, and a smaller couch that pulled out to a twin bed. The staff had also placed a small twin bed in the room. So in all, we had 2 Adults and 2 teens and 1 tween in the room comfortably. The bathroom was large and easily accommodated all of us. The fridge in the room was stocked with water and soft drinks. If we needed anything, just dialing 0 got it there in a hurry.

The Food: The restaurants on the resort are exceptional. There is food for everyone. During the day, the kids could grab hamburgers, pizza, jerk chicken, etc. They loved getting crepes. There are soft drinks and milkshakes everywhere. Also ice cream! At night, we would shower and get into resort wear, (Shorts, shoes, and nice shirts) and go to some really nice restaurants. French, Italian, Mederteranian. 3 days a week there are big buffets, no dress-up required. In all, you don't have to have fancy clothes, just not bathing suits for the higher end restaurants. (Hank at the Venetian Restaurant was awesome. He greeted us with a great smile, sat us down and really made us feel at home.) The breakfast buffet was huge and everyone ate well. The returning guest dinner had the most colossal shrimp we have ever eaten. Alex J. was the server and he kept our table engaged and kept everyone s drinks filled. He recommended the Children s desert over the adults, and it was the best recommendation. Cudoos.

The Drinks: Here is one thing they do not skimp on. Everywhere you turn you can get a drink. The kids can get soft drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, and milkshakes. There are blue tubs of bottled water near the beach. I counted 11 different brands of whiskey at every bar. Wine and beer galore. If you can think of something to drink, you will get it. We stopped in a bar to grab a drink and the host Shawna really took care of us. It is true, that everyone in Jamaica is family. She personified that belief. We made it a priority to go say goodbye before we left. I still don t know why Red Stripe beer is not free back in Texas. It is at Beaches.

The Activities: If you are expecting water activities, then this is the place. The kids loved the pool and the water slides. There was water volleyball and a swim up bar. There were plenty of chairs, they just get marked by people with towels early in the morning. It s not a problem as we were all over the place all day. The beach is clean and big enough. There is a separate smaller beach on the other side of the dive shop. It was never crowded. The kids loved to snorkel and found shells, crabs, and saw different types of fish. They loved it. Sailing was fun on the Hobie Cats. Livingston took us out and gave us a top of the line sailing instruction. He made sure that we were fully capable of going alone. He went out of his way to make sure that we had the most fun. Respect!

Diving: This was the main reason we pick Sanadals. We went out for 6 dives. Gear included. The dives were to ship wrecks, Reefs, cathedrals. We saw Turtles, Lionfish, Rays, Coral, Fish. You name it. DeMario was the instructor and I have to tell you, there is no one finer. Every dive we felt like we were the only ones there. He took care of us personally. He truly earns his pay and more. We did an extra diving excursion and it was a memory for a lifetime. Thanks to the entire diving staff. Anna made sure that we were always booked for the next dive. Claude took us out as our dive leader. He made sure that we saw all kinds of exciting things. He definitely made us feel safe.

So in conclusion: There is no place in Jamaica that you can go and feel like one big family with the staff. They are Awesome. The facilities are Awesome. In fact everything is irie, man!
