I was here for a wedding this past weekend. The staff itself was very friendly but the hotel, as a business, was very unprofessional and unprepared. The event coordinator had a family emergency and could not make it to the rehearsal. That was inconvenient but completely understandable. But the fact that no one else at the hotel was made aware of the situation and that they had NO ONE there that could assist us is not. Not a single person knew anything. We basically figured the whole thing out ourselves. And the day of the wedding, the groom and us groomsman were running around making sure that things were set up the way that the bride had clearly written down and had discussed with the event planner. And again, the event planner was not there (again understandable) but did not communicate with the hotel properly to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The staff that was there was extremely friendly and tried very hard, but honestly, they are just not very good at these types of things. They lacked the attention to detail that one would expect when hosting a wedding. Not a knock on them at all. They worked very hard. But I think that they could use a bit more training on hosting weddings and large events. If the father of the bride hadn't spent so much money for this wedding, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. But he did, and it is. Beautiful hotel (and when the additions are finished it will be even more beautiful), and a very friendly staff, but I would suggest another venue for a wedding.
