I have been to PAMM several times. It's conveniently located in Museum Park near Bayside Market Place. If they ever finish building it there will be a brand new Science Museum next door. There is plenty of parking in their attached garage for a reasonable $2 an hour. The location and the building are stunning. It's located on Biscayne Bay and many of the windows offer a gorgeous view of it. The building is very open and they are able to change around the rooms in their gallery by actually moving the walls depending on what they want to showcase. The art is contemporary which means that I largely don't "get" it but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing it. One time when we were visiting there was a large piece of wood in the center of the room and my daughter leaned on it. A security guard ran over to tell her not to touch the art. See I didn't even know that was art! We spent a humorous afternoon standing off to the side watching other people get yelled at too. The museum is fairly small compared to say ones in New York City but it is still worth a visit. The outside has hanging gardens and a patio with a lovely view of the bay. The patio is an especially nice place to have a bite to eat from their cafe. Below the patio is sculptures in their garden. There is a small museum gift shop which is fun to take a wander through but I have never actually bought anything from it. When we attend we try to aim for the second Saturday of the month when admission is free for everyone. They also have free crafts based on their exhibits for the kids on that day as well. If you have a Bank of America card you can also get in free the first weekend of every month. The museum is always having a ton of events and if you are on their email list they will invite you.
