To be perfectly honest. We inherited this "power company" from the previous owners of our house. Not sure what the previous owners were thinking when they thought this was the way to go with electric? One of our power boxes is connected to the "heat meter" that shuts down randomly for hours, which consequently is attached to our HVAC, garage power including garage door openers, washer/dryer, hot water heater, etc.
It's called interrupted service. So when the east side of the grid is using more power, you get shut off. And just so you know before you get in to the business with them, know that it's not easy to get OUT of it.

The CSR are fantastic. Super sweet and understanding. But if you can avoid this power source, I would. Unless you can go straight standard KWPH. Don't get roped into the "free water heater".
