I went in for a SMILE procedure. Denise was my first point of contact, responds promptly and in detail, gives a sense that they know what they are doing and reassured me. The procedure itself was short, maybe 5-10 minutes, you spend more time waiting in the waiting room for the procedure to start. Although the procedure was short, i only wanted to sleep immediately after (make sure to have some prepared food close at hand for the first few days). The day of, my eyesight was blurry. Next day was quite the improvement, I worked half a day and was seeing clear out of my right eye. The left eye took a little longer to recover.... i think part of that was because a couple days after, i rubbed my eye when i woke up (they give protective covers which I wore the first few days) - must have been a habit i wasn't aware of. I wore the sunglasses to sleep after doing that. It was about a week until i didn't feel any residual affects (discomfort). My right eye could see probably the best it ever has in its life (20/15 at one point but it settled at 20/20 now), the left eye for some reason took a while longer to get to 20/20 but it's here now (i'd say it took around 3 months of ok vision days and a little blurrier days). Coincidentally? My friend told me take take vitamin E to help my eyes and i did and my left eye seemed much better the next day and has been good since. Overall, the procedure is amazing, my life has changed for the better. There were some things I just wouldn't do before but now can (jump off rocks into water - before I would be worried about losing my glasses or if i jumped without them, i would worry that i wouldn't calculate the trajectory right - still a little bit of a worry but not because of my vision). Soccer is also much less a hassle. Thanks to all the great staff at NW eye surgeons :)
