I had never heard of this themepark until the wife told me the name on the day we were driving there. Initially we drove into via the hotel entrance, which are stunning in their own right and worth considering on our next visit. After being given directions for the main entrance, parked the car and marvelled at the beauty of the spiked wooden structure as you walk towards the park.

If you can, pay for your parking ticket before carrying on. Also, you can use the printed map, or the preferred mobile app, which provides your accurate GPS location and wait times for each attraction.

Overall I was impressed with the level of detail around the park, especially in the queues. Do take some form of entertainment during waiting, such as music or a video game. I did purchase the photo package, which for 30 will give you 6 ride photos (available as a magnet, key chain or large print), plus a digital download code for each photo.

The food served, especially the pastry items are very appetising. The novel 'snack vending' booths are something I've never seen before, but make perfect sense and would be very handy back home in the UK.

Having recently visited Disneyland Paris, I would recommend Efteling as a more fulfilling alternative. It has rides for the thrill seekers and less queues for the children attractions.
