Be careful who you place your loved ones hands in....

Be careful who you place your loved ones hands in. I have had loved ones in this hospital often. Never had anything to complain about. However, this last admission of a family member was alarming to say the least. No complaints of E.R. as they were caring and professional. However, would recommend others to be watchful if they have a family member placed on infill 6th floor. They are a sketchy group of employees to say the least. Most of the employees are aloof and deceitful, employees are always on their cell phones and show no concern for their job or interest for their patients. I feel the hospital needs to put a policy in place for employees cell phone use and a legitimate purpose for being on their cell phone as staff is oblivious to visitors/family while their playing on their phones. In addition I feel if a doctor is paged (Asifa Ashraf) because a family member was not present when she went to visit the patient earlier ,the right thing to do is respond and service family/caregivers. After the physician not answering pages by the nurse on call for 30 minutes I knocked on the door where the physician was sitting. The lady kept saying "yes" never got up to answer the door and after the third attempt to no avail I opened the door to find her on her cell phone. She was annoyed and told me that I shouldn't be in there. I just opened the door as she kept saying yes and never bothered to get up. I was a family member trying to attain help/information for one of her patients. To make matters worse, as I had a question concerning my family member she told me she already did her rounds ??? If she thinks that she was there for rounds only, then why not go home after she is finished? Is she getting paid to sit in the room and surf the internet? I would like to give credit to the professionals on the the unit which are two nurses, Bob and Mack who were professional, kind and caring. Also one of your nurse techs on Infill 6 who seemed to disappear after being asked to help a patient. She comes back after her patient is waiting over an hour and a half and sees a family member helped and signs off that she did her job? Have no clue how she sees that fit or didn't even bother to say sorry for the delay to the patient or thank you to the person who did her job. Is there no awareness provided to your employees on moving or cleaning patients so they don't get bed sores?? No one likes to leave the hospital with sores from being neglected. .Would also be nice to change bed linen so patients don't lay in dirty sheets. Aside from the drama on Infill 6 like to state that there are many kind and caring employees in your hospital on other floors however, administration needs to evaluate Infill 6. Be careful as some visitors document and photo while visiting.
