We come to Boston every year. We wanted to try something new. i made my reservation originally for three nights, for our anniversary, and noted that while we were checking in "wednesday" we wouldn't be arriving until after midnight (thursday morning). I immediately received a note from the management stating that they couldn't accomodate my request (under the confusion that i meant wednesday at 1am, as if i was trying to get a night free, not sure if anyone with a brain would actually attempt that?) I responded letting them know they misunderstood. When we were about to board our flight, I saw all the reviews about the strike. INSTANT regret trying a new hotel this year. We hadn't even arrived, and I called trying to figure out if we could cancel.. (we're arriving after midnight - strike starting at 7am? Not a wake up call i want my first day of vacation.) Cancellation policy is a nights charge, even if we haven't arrived.. SICK. We check in, shockingly there are still two guests in the lobby drinking, and we are given the room right next to the front desk. So Not only are we spending ONLY 5 hours in the room, the first two listening to all the sounds of entrance and exits, but then we're STILL paying their "boutique fully functioning hotel price" of $500 to do so. So they can't pay their workers a fair wage, only operating a quarter of the hotel AND still charging full price? not somewhere i will consider again even if it gets resolved.
