The sales engineers have to familiarize themselves with the tasks a little more and they lack the structuring and organization. I applied to BEG as an electrical engineer and was invited to an interview with a customer for a computer scientist. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, which is actually "pocket money" for such companies. Even if BEG pays me above-average salary, I no longer want to apply to such companies.


You are certainly right about the travel costs in the first interview. But there were still two interviews afterwards. Your sales engineer promised back then that the travel expenses would be reimbursed. After the second interview, my inquiries regarding travel expenses didn't. I can still leave out the travel costs, but think about when you are invited to an interview what has nothing to do with your training or studies. That's the truth ;)
