If I could give a 0 star review I would. My mother went to Houston Hospice on Holcombe after she was under their in home hospice care for some time but she was in need of urgent care - long story there. She was given very large doses of morphine. We were told this was to help her breathe. Next thing we knew, she was "unresponsive". Dr. Trinn said over & over "it's just the progression of the disease"; Mom had lung cancer. She called all the family in to say their good byes ( 12/24/2017). After 2 days of them pumping Morphine in a port in her leg, I asked Dr. Trinn if we could reduce or end the Morphine to see what happened. She didn't like the idea and we ended up having words. I requested another dr. ; she was the only one in the center I was told. I had Medical POA and told them to take her off the morphine and was told if I didn't follow their directions, Mom would be dismissed. Well, Mom, 2 days later, came out of the coma and wanted to WALK! 3 days later we moved her to a nursing home where she walked, danced, played bingo, did PT, made new friends, etc! Mom died Jan. 21, 2019. It was NOT time to say good by! And I'm just sorry I didn't report this sooner!!!
