Rebecca Terenyi Review of Wisp Resort
For what you charge your guests to stay, you could...
For what you charge your guests to stay, you could at least provide working toilets and clean bathrooms. Save yourself some money and stay somewhere else.
That said I wish I could review the skiing and hotel separately. I'd give the skiing 4 stars and the hotel 2.
The skiing was great. Our instructor, Gary, was amazing! The guys in the rental shop were so nice and helpful and patient with our kids. And staff in the kids ski school were off the charts fantastic. Their manager was super nice and personable. And the slopes did not disappoint. Everyone involved with the actual skiing experience were AMAZING!!
BUT
The staff in the lodge and the food yurt and the overall lodge experience was disappointing.
The front desk and girls the night we checked in were too busy gossiping to be helpful. However the young lady on duty the next morning was super sweet and as helpful as she could be.
The young girls in the food court were super rude and completely disinterested in their jobs, our questions or in any form of guest service. The older lady on duty Saturday early morning was very sweet.
The room was mediocre. Like staying in a motel. There were hardly any outlets and everything was outdated. The room was clean...BUT THE BATHROOM WAS NOT...maybe you don't want to invest in updating your rooms, but you can at least clean the bathrooms??? AND IT'S JUST PLAIN LAZY AND CHEAP TO PUT THREADBARE TOWELS IN A GUEST ROOM.
Also, the toilets would be an easy fix. They're super short and you literally have to hold the handle down and count to 30 in order to get them to flush. Absurd. For what you charge your guests to stay, you could at least provide working toilets.
The pool itself was clean. All the drains and pillars had brown sludge around them. Again, details.
