Disappointed in my visit to Disney on Ice today, unlike past experiences. After waiting in line outside I was told upon entering that my mid size tote style purse, which I have carried in before with no problem, was too big. I invited her to search it, with no pockets or extras you could clearly see contents of backup diapers, spare change of clothes (we're potty training), wallet, phone, etc. and a small princess doll. I was told it was posted outside (specifics of size limits are not). I asked if there was an option such as coat check, nope. Of course, I was offered to just chance it and leave it by the door (really?). Instead, I walked a block back to my car. Luckily, I had another adult I could leave my child with. Luckily, I was not one of the several single parents having to take their child(ren) back with them. Luckily, I had another small purse I could shove the minimal essentials into. Meanwhile, parents were having to spread the word to others on the street. This should not have been necessary. There are plenty of examples of good policies at other venues. They start by providing people with good communication and options. Something needs to change at the Ford Center or your going to lose your family base.
