I just loved this museum in Madrid, even though I was there one Monday when it was open only from 12 to 16(free of charge on Mondays), no wonder that for many years I wanted to visit this Thyssen Bornemisza museum. (Unfortunately I had a flight back home at Monday night to Romania, so I could not visit the whole museum only the second floor).
When I was planning I didn't know why I need to visit here, now I know why. This place definitely became one of my favourites museums in Spain and will come back in March with a small groups of customers, and can't wait to see the Renaissance art again where I spent at least 2-3 hours.
I felt like I don't need anything else, just art.
Who thought that Baron Heinrich Thyssen Bornemisza started to collect Old Masters for his villa in Switzerland in 1920 , and his son continued and this place will be once the World second biggest private collection according to my guide book. If I read it right now this museum belongs to government who bought this place.
I highly recommend this place, and please take your time if you come here. These paintings will fulfill your heart.
