We stayed here for five nights during the new year...

We stayed here for five nights during the new year's celebration and it was the most frustrating experience. The only shimmer of hope for this hotel is the concierge staff which are amazing.

The general staff are relatively rude, seem only to be interested in upcharging, and lack the basic knowledge to answer questions like "will we be able to see fireworks from our room." We were told we would not see fireworks from the room and then asked to pay $4,000 USD to upgrade. When we did not and my parents retired early as the weather was pounding this year, they had an excellent view just not of the bridge. When we asked for a bucket of ice at noon we were told it would be a $10 delivery charge. After being shocked on the phone the staff member finally told me there was free ice in the lobby. Are they just trying to gauge you at every corner?

The hotel room we had smelled of body odor and we had to request special cleaning almost every day. The decor is dated and generally old and worn.
