Review of Lazy Ranch

I wouldn t drive a nice vehicle that you wouldn t want scratched to lazy 5 ranch. Took my family there today and left with about $2000 worth of damage to a brand new truck. Wasn t the horned animals I had to steer clear of it was the goats. Every time we come close to a goat it would jump on the side of the truck leaving deep heavy scratches. We try to avoid them but the traffic was so bad we sat still for 20 mins on several occasions with no where to go. It s a one lane road that navigates thru the park with no escape route. Animals were a lot more aggressive than I would have imagined. They give you the option to ride a horse and carriage thru instead of drive but there were no available reservations. I called the park after I left to ask about the policy for any damages acquired during the visit and a young lady picked up the phone and said it doesn t fall back on the park and hung up on me. So I called back and ask to speak to a manager and was told she is in the gift shop that I would need to call back. Overall experience was horrible. If the park was properly managed like a real business should be it would have been a very unique experience. One I would have returned for time and time again. However that not being the case I would recommend a few things to the owner or management.

1) to hire a few more responsible employees that better suit customers needs. Most the staff I interacted with were young teenagers.

2) Post signs or have the staff taking money at the entrance clearly stating that damage could occur to your personal property if you choose to take the safari. There are signs saying enter at your own risk but people should be made aware very clearly that damage could happen to your vehicle. Customers who have never been thru the safari may not know what enter at your own risk intel. We were thinking wild animals as a risk not $2000 worth of damage. Now that we have experienced the damage we understand what risk there are but there needs to be clear signs stating this and there isn t.

3) limit how many cars can enter the safari at once. Once we entered we were left stuck in a long line of cars not moving with no where to go, no escape route and goats and other big animals surrounding the car and jumping leaving scratches and nothing we could do about it. If maybe the park only allowed so many at a time i could have kept a steady enough pace not to allow any animals to jump or had a better path around the animals so that keeping us within a safer distance. If you can t control how many cars enter the park then put some staff/security in the pastures to try to keep a steady enough pace on high volume days. Part of the experience is stopping and feeding the animals but when there are 100 cars in a line and the lead car stops for 20 mins to feed the zebras (which they do tell you not to do) it puts the rest of the line in a bad situation. That was our case. We was stuck with no where to go not feeding any animals and goats jumping on the truck trying to get food.
