My sister and I booked in for an overnight spa break. Although she had to double check that our upgrade had been acknowledged and we had to wait a bit longer for a different room, the reception staff in the spa seemed to be doing their best to be friendly, welcoming and efficient. The room was lovely, it and the bathroom were clean. The grounds of the hotel were stunning, even through the lashing rain we experienced on the day of our arrival. The next morning, which was gloriously sunny, we wished we had brought walking shoes and gone for an exploratory stroll.
We liked the pool surroundings, made use of the jacuzzi, sauna, and pool which was an excellent temperature. Our treatments were very pleasant and it was nice to try something different.
Dinner in the brasserie was wonderful. The food was delicious, and the service was fine. It was quite busy and I think that the staff were just about managing ok. It probably wouldn't have hurt to have another waitress, but we were in no hurry so had no complaints. We were asked if our meal was good and the maitre d' was attentive.
We both slept well and the breakfast was also delicious. Checkout was efficient, and we were asked if we had enjoyed our stay.
In conclusion, we really enjoyed our stay and would like to return and repeat it next year. I would recommend this hotel and spa but having looked at other comments, we were glad it was not a busy time.
Thank you all.
