Erik Estrada Review of Cap's Westwood Cycle
I'm not sure what their customer service approach ...
I'm not sure what their customer service approach is, but here's a tip. When a customer walks into a store and makes eye contact with not one, or two or even three employees, one would expect a greeting or "Hi, can I help you?" This isn't the first time this has happened to me at this store, but it will be my last, as I will never set foot in this store again. I will travel the extra distance to go to the other Cap's stores such as the Port Moody, Maple Ridge, or even the Burnaby location where I have had great customer service experiences in the past. Caps Coquitlam could sure use some tips from their sister stores on how to treat a customer.
Backdrop:
I went to the Maple Ridge Caps store to get a bike for my son transferred to the Coquitlam location, as the bike was not built yet and was closing soon. (BTW if you're in that area, the Maple Ridge Caps location has great customer service). In hindsight, I should of just gone back there to pick up the bike. When I go to pick up the bike for my son at the Coquitlam location, this is where my experience turns south. My son and I weren't even acknowledged as we walk in with two employees behind the counter. Another employee (maybe the owner who was an older lady) walked right past us and not even a peep. I had to go out of my way to get the attention of another employee. At this point I am irritated and ready to leave, but my son really wanted the bike. Now, this is what got me. As my son tries to sit on the bike, out of the corner of my eye I catch this employee who was helping us look skyward as if we were inconveniencing him. Even though, we walked in there with the intent to purchase the bike (which my son really loved), I had to leave without buying it as I am not about to spend money in a store where you are treated like #$&@. I will however, thank them for allowing me to use this experience as a teaching point for my son as to how a customer should NOT be treated when walking into a store. Hopefully their customer service improves when they turn into an exclusive Trek store.
