Warning if you decide to cancel:
If you do decide to cancel, be VERY careful about the process that you are dealing with. We were charged many months after terminating...but since they did not countersign the document, they demanded additional months above an beyond a year after the initial attempt to terminate.
We had an attorney look into this, and tried to resolve things this way, but this made them (Excel) more aggressive about their "one sided legal document." Even though we paid over a year extra in fees, we decided that it was not worth dealing with this type of business model.
If this was over $20K, it would be a fairly straitforward forward case to win, due to the unrealistic burden of "requirements" that Excel demands for contract termination. But for $1700, it is hard to get an attorney engaged. Small claims would be doable if you want to put in the time.
Unfortunately there are not good enough consumer protection clauses to mitigate this type of revenue generation. Hopefully, there is some change in the horizon.
Until then, expect threats and no compromise.
