When walking around Edinburgh centre it is easy to underestimate the impact of the hills. Once we'd negotiated the walk up to and around the castle we decided we'd earned a pint (or two).

The Royal Mile pubs were still busy with the lunchtime crowds so we popped our heads through the door here, lucked into a couple of freshly-vacated seats and rested a while with a much needed beer.

Decent range of draft and bottled beers and happy to serve tea and coffee too. Quick, friendly bar staff are always welcome too and the Newsroom has plenty of these.

Well worth a visit.
