Run and don't look back!!!!!! We have been renting from this company for a little over 6 months and I can't wait until the lease is over. The property that we live in is pleasant but there wasn't proper preparation done before we moved in. The house just wasn't totally move in ready. We liked the house size and location but the home had a few ants in the kitchen. They said they wouldn't spray until we signed the contract, which didn't make any sense to me. Running out of time we reluctantly moved in and within two days there were literally over a hundred ants in our clothes hamper. The ants started popping up all over the house and it was so bad that we couldn't cook. There were more than 10 missing light bulbs and a lot of bulbs were blown. One of the ac unit were broken and the home had a few other issues that weren't previously known. It obvious that management don't have any idea as to how a property management company is suppose to operate. I don't know if they are, but they operate like a family owned business where no one is held accountable. All good property management have a check list of the things that should be done before someone can move into a property. You can't have doors or windows that won't shut nor can you have obviously missing light bulbs. Champion say that their rental property or as- is. Champion home purchases or as- is not rentals! I understand that the home doesn't have to be perfect but there are certain things that should be done. Tenants are NOT responsible for repairs unless they have negligently contributed to the damages. A leaking sink is not a tenant responsibility because it's is likely caused by worn internal parts. Please people don't rent your home out if you are not ready for the responsibilities that come with being a landlord. I know some people rent their home for financial reasons but you don't get to collect money and never do repairs that are necessary. Homeowners should make their homes livable and PLEASE pick a management company that will be reasonable to your tenant. If you don't do these things you will have a high turnover rate, which will cost you the homeowner more money in the long turn. Homeowners spend a few hundreds if you have it and put up good permanent curtains rods and/or blinds and do everything to make your home more appealing and livable because your tenants will stay longer (Possibly past their one year lease). I like when curtain rods are hanging because all I have to do is hang my own curtain. Curtains help to block any wind draft and that decreases the heating bill during the winter. Homeowner know that any repairs or improvements can be written off on your federal taxes. Every amount is important but you deserve some respect when you are spending over $1100 a month to rent someone's home. Champion get it together and stop this AS IS stuff.
