The staff are friendly but that s about where it ends for me. My girlfriend picked out a kitten, we placed the kitten on a 48hr hold and the shelter gave that kitten away the next day. The manager was kind enough to call us about another kitten that matched our desired cat. That kitten was sweet so we picked it up that day. As soon as we got it home, we noticed that it was sneezing. We had to bring our sick kitten to the vet a couple of days after Burlington county animal shelter gave it a clean bill of health. The vet informed us that the kitten was sexed incorrectly and we discovered that we were given completely incorrect paperwork for our cat (microchip numbers didn t match). Additionally, this shelter doesn t test kittens for feline leukemia under the excuse that kittens produce inaccurate results. Yes that is possible, but rare and really just an excuse to save money. Other shelters test, vets recommend it, and pet web md says that kittens over 8 weeks should be tested (Burlington county animal shelter does not adopt out kittens that are less than 8 weeks old).

The manager Kelly was truly great to deal with, but the rest of the experience was a huge disappointment.
