5 Stars for the decor. The walls are painted and decorated with quirky scifi art, and there's (muted) scifi classics streaming on the flat screens. There's bar, tables, and booths to accommodate most different group sizes.
4 Stars for the beer selection. There's excellent year-round beer choices for a pizza place, with a seasonal summer/fall liquor license.
3 Stars for the Pizza: It's a hit or miss to be honest. Sometimes it's fantastic, especially when you get a super fresh slice. Like other reviewers have said, the slices are thin crust and big. I suppose the cost of having creative topping arrangements is more frequent duds - with some or most people hating it and some or most loving it. This place appeals to those who like to try new things, but I recommend trying to imagine what it'll taste like based on the ingredients before you order your favorite scifi-character-named pizza.
I have mostly positive things to say about the waitstaff. I won't subject them to a 1-5 rating, but I'd say they're about what you'd expect out of most servers and bar tenders in Salem, MA. They have a little bit of that New England curt charm mixed with some post-grad hipster art student vibe. They get the job done, are friendly to a point, but aren't brimming with fake hospitality just to mumble under their breath as they walk away from your table. They'd be more likely say it plain, straight up - which I prefer. They're about as casual and quirky in attitude as the decor on the walls - fitting for a pizza place. All that to say, talk to them as a human rather than the help and you can have lots of fun here.
The last time I was in I had a great time. The first slice was great, so I ordered another of the same 40 minutes later. It came out dry and lightly burnt - so I assume they reheated the same pizza and it just wasn't that good. For premium priced pizza I expect every slice to be fresh. All things considered I like going to this place for a casual gatherings, but for order out I feel my dollar goes further elsewhere.
