In the beginning after my accident, everything was going well, although I had to reach out to them to get any kind of update which I would do about every 2-3 weeks as I did not want to annoy them. Right after the accident, the insurance company offered me $1,600 for my neck issues that I sustained from being rear-ended. I had to visit the chiropractor every day for several weeks for physical therapy. After waiting 7 months, my attorney finally called and said he received their first offer of $8,000. I was not expecting millions or even anything over $100k but that seemed really low for now having a bulging disk in my neck due to the accident. He said they should have the final offer back in a week or two. I called 5 weeks later after not hearing anything from them and he said that "the offer just came in". He told me it was $9500 and he also felt that was extremely low but the insurance company said that was all they had. This company claims to be the "Strong Arm" but that didn't sound like they were living up to their claim. When I expressed my displeasure about the low offer saying I that the disk will be much softer than it should be and if I get into another accident, it could really mess my neck up, he said "well at your age, you probably had that issue already". He is my attorney but is trying to defend the insurance company? That is pretty messed up in my opinion. I reluctantly accepted the offer to then be told after attorney fees and medical bills, I would only be getting $2,500. 7 months of waiting to only get $900 over what I offered by the insurance company. I was told the check would probably be cut in a week. 5 weeks later, still no call from them so I once again had to reach out and was told the check had been cut and I could go pick it up. Once I got there and saw the check, it had a print day of 2 days after I had last spoken with him which means my check sat in their office for 5 weeks and no one called to tell me it was available for me to come pick up. Hopefully I will not need an accident attorney again, but if I do, I will go with someone else who will hopefully treat me right.
