This was my first stay in a psych unit as an adult and I don't remember a whole lot from it. What I do remember was a lot and I do mean a LOT of coloring. There was NOTHING else to do there. The staff was not interested in anything you had to stay. I had maybe one therapy session. I don't remember meeting with a doctor but I must have since I was put on medication. They would only release me to my family out of state because I was still a huge suicide risk. 13 months, 9 hospital stays (6 months total inpatient) stays later I'm finally on the road to recovery. There ARE good places out there...this isn't one of them. I wouldn't go back.
