Joni LeClair Review of Renaissance Richardson Hotel

Confused valet and bell staff, EXTREMELY condescending front desk attendants, room service delivered my coffee and completely disregarded my breakfast order...not a good experience, nor is it one I care to repeat.
Two of three front desk attendants were busy. The third finally greeted me after previously noticing my presence twice. He asked how I could be helped and I informed him I was checking in. After staring down his nose at me a third time (I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and carrying a backpack, perhaps that does not scream Renaissance guest?) he resigned himself to the fact I was a guest. He looked at me sideways while stating he would need a credit card, as if he expected me to be unable to produce such an item. It was only at this time he realized I am a Titanium Elite member. Begrudgingly, he thanked me for my patronage. He did not, however, ask if I wanted points as my welcome gift, or offer anything. He also did not offer a late check out, nor an upgrade if available. When I stated I had luggage at the bell desk, one would have thought his world was ending. After all of this I had to inquire about WIFI and at that time an access card was placed in my key envelope with a comment that I could "choose to accept charges." Then, to top it off there was no fond farewell offered with directions to the elevator. Likely because there were no directions to the elevator...I had to ask a passing bellman.
The front desk staff, and this yahoo in particular, needs to seriously revisit the Marriott Commitment to Excellence. IMO they can also get over themselves in the process.
Room was adequate, bed was comfortable, though certainly not special. The highlight of my room was having ample hot water.
The concierge lounge attendants were quite pleasant and the food in the lounge was adequate. The computers in concierge lounge would not allow me to log on to my email because they were not secure.
Checking out was the highlight of this $330, one night visit. Do yourself a favor and avoid this experience.
