I was placed into the Adolescent Unit under the 72 hour hold about a year ago. It was a joke. My discharge date was affected because I wasn't participating in group therapy. Do you know how annoying it is to listen to the same stuff all the time? I've been to 5 different places in different states. Hearing the same platitudes over and over again. Say something that's comforting but also realistic! Also big problem is patients getting too intimate with each other. A lot of PDA went on in the Adolescent Unit and it wasn't handled with proper consequences. A lot of dating. There was this one occasion where everybody was in the group room and while I was walking around I witnessed this girl and boy go into girl's room, from eavesdropping I learned that they engaged in oral sex or something. It's disgusting. Please do something with this issue so other troubled people don't have to experience what I've experienced. I feel like there needs to be more creative and different activities that could actually benefit a patient. I feel like I could run a place better lol.
