Review of Table 301

When Table 301 was Soby's on the Side it was amazing. As an individual who works downtown, it was one of my favorite places to go for lunch. The food was both delicious and fairly priced. After it became Table 301 everything changed. As if it wasn't sad enough that the menu changed completely and all of the staple weekly meal deals that made the place so great were taken away, now everything is pre-made. Today I had the misfortune to order a pimento cheese sandwich with barely any pimento cheese on it, and wilted lettuce slapped between 2 stale pieces of bread that tasted like they had been sitting out for ages. When they first made the change I had an equally terrible experience in which I bought a pre-made salad, and then was charged an additional fee for dressing, but I opted to give it another chance. Needless to say I was let down once again. This place is absolutely terrible and has been forever ruined. The beautiful renovation is not worth the time or money. I NEVER write reviews but this place is so incredibly disappointing. Why fix what wasn't broken?

I understand they want to implement a focus on catering, but after being presented with such bland, stale, poorly portioned food, why would I ever seek their services at an event?

The only reason they get 2 stars rather than 1 is because at least they kept their fantastic grits on the menu, and they are still delicious. There is also no denying the beauty of the post-renovation space itself.
